Terms of service
Last updated: February 2026
Acceptance of terms
By using Prairie you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Description of service
Prairie is a hobby-grade plant identification app for U.S. native-plant enthusiasts. It uses an AI vision model to identify plants from photos you submit and to characterize them relative to a U.S. state you choose.
Accuracy & no warranty
AI identifications can be wrong. Information about native status, edibility, medicinal use, conservation listings, and companion planting is provided "as is" without warranty. Never eat, prepare, or apply a plant to skin based on identifications from this app. Consult a qualified botanist or your state natural-resources agency before any management or use decision.
Acceptable use
- Do not upload images of people, copyrighted material you don't own, or content unrelated to plants.
- Do not abuse the API endpoints or attempt to circumvent rate limits.
- Do not use the service to identify protected/endangered species in order to harm or harvest them.
Account & termination
You may stop using the service at any time and delete your data from Plants Identified. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Prairie and its operators are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to misidentification, plant exposure, or property damage.
Changes
We may update these terms; the "Last updated" date will reflect changes.
